D1.1 Theoretical framework on cybercrime activities
Published:
This literature review addresses the main characteristics and circumstances of some of the most frequent cybercrimes in relation to minors: online grooming, cyberbullying, and human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation. To achieve a multidisciplinary framework, theories and findings from psychology, anthropology and criminology are explored.
First, definitions and topologies of crimes are presented along with their prevalence among children and young people. Secondly, risk and protective factors, as well as environmental influences on becoming either a victim or an offender are described. Finally, different modus operandis are analysed and key points for prevention are suggested.
